It was HOT on Saturday, so we decided to spend our morning on Carman's River in Brookhaven, Long Island. Carman's river spills out into the Atlantic ocean. It was a nice way to cool off. Randy and I are both experienced canoers. Father and daughter. Abbey is QUICK in a kayak! We couldn't believe how fast she was! Under Montauk Highway to pass beneath the Long Island Railroad tressel.
Our daughter, Abigail, was saved on Sunday night! How wonderful it is for Randy and I to know that no matter what, our girl is SAFE! "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." John 10:28. To everyone who prayed for Abbey - Thank you!
Here's a recent picture of Abbey and her little white dog, Mr. Higgins.
Randy took Abbey and I on the best little date on Saturday! He took us to lunch, he took us shopping, and he took us to Smith Point on the South Shore of Long Island. Here are some images from Smith Point.
Our favorite guy... The boardwalk to the dunes. This is called a land sailor. We want one! It goes soooooo fast via wind and wheels! This deer was so friendly and let me get a close-up. Going home.
Randy and I went on a date Friday night. Port Jefferson is a quaint seaside village on Long Island with lots of fun things to do! We had dinner at an open-air, seafood restaurant. Afterwards we walked on the boardwalk and enjoyed viewing all the beautiful yachts moored in the bay. Starbucks came next where we shared a decadent dessert and then took our coffees on another walk through the village. It was certainly an evening to remember! I only wish I had taken more pictures. Here are the few that I did manage...
Sailor statue located near the entry way of Danford's - a great restaurant if you're ever in the area (bring lots of money.) Here's the epitaph... Randy Me The ferry (white) that goes to Connecticut and a party boat (red)
During the week of the Fourth, we went to Gettysburg PA and enjoyed ourselves at a Civil War re-enactment camp. Here are some photos of various folks who dress and play the parts of Civil War people.
