To continue this evening...

Hey everyone. These past several days have been a whirlwind of activity and I have been unable to maintain my blog. I'm traveling to JFK Airport this afternoon with my friend to pick up her parents who are arriving from Sweden. I am planning to post pictures of Madison opening her birthday gifts from the Engesetter family sometime after that. So... stay tuned! My blog is to be continued!

Luke and Gordon

I babysat for my friend last night. My two charges were Luke and Gordon, a boy and his dog. Here are their photos...

Luke, a beautiful boy who's almost two.
Showing me where is room is at the top of the stairs.
Gordon, a Great Dane who's almost one. I tried to get his whole head in the picture but didn't have much luck!

Gordon again. He was gentle giant who wasn't a problem at all!

Happy Birthday Madison!

Here's Madison on Sunday wearing her birthday dress. Today, she is two and not one bit terrible! This little child has stolen our hearts away! Happy birthday little darling!

Family Reunion

It was great to see Neal over the weekend. He came in on the train from Brooklyn and spent a good part of the afternoon with us. We had hamburgers at the Good Steer restaurant and good, hot coffee from Starbuck for the ride into Queens. Neal caught a train there and headed home. We miss him already!

I took this pic...
and Randy took this one.

Ah, autumn!

This photo is somewhat blurry, but to see our backyard in reality is glorious! We have red, gold, rust, yellow, and various shades of green gracing our landscape. Autumn is my absolute favorite time of year here on Long Island!

Camp Shiloh

Forgive me for not having blogged in awhile; I have been without a camera and Abbey took Randy's to camp! So... here are a few photos from Camp Shiloh - a place where memories are burned in the heart forever!

Lake Hatch in October. Isn't it lovely? On the day this photo was taken, it was 70 degrees outside.

Singing around the camp fire late at night.

Happy Eighteenth Abbey!

Here's a picture of Abbey as she is today and a few more from years gone by! We are so thankful to have such a lovely young lady for our daughter!

Happy Birthday Abbey!

Walking

I love this picture of Randy and I strolling along in the late afternoon.

For the birds

As of late, the neighborhood Guinnea Hens have been hanging out an awful lot in our yard. Their feathers can be found in little bunches all around the perimeter of our house. Yesterday, I caught them roosting on our front porch! I hope that they're not making plans for a long winter's nap...

In the backyard

A few silly moments spent together in our backyard on Saturday. Abbey left for camp on late Sunday afternoon. We sure will miss her while she's gone!

Classic Abbey.

Laughing out loud.

Randy and our dog. I really do like Randy's beard quite alot; I think it looks great on him!
Our beloved pet, Mr. Higgins. He's getting mellower in his old age and tends to stay around the yard now, even without his leash.

The Hazra Family

Today I received this photo of the Hazra family from Bangladesh. I was so happy! The last time I saw a picture of this family, Joel was shorter than his parents and Jui was just a little girl. Looks like the Hazra children are becoming very much like their lovely parents! Hopefully, we will be re-united with Nathaniel and his family very, very soon. Enjoy the photo and pray for them!

The Fair at Old Bethpage

The kids in our Christian School went on a field trip to Old Bethpage Village Fair on Thursday. It was a beautiful, cool autumn day. Perfect for running races and for doing a lot of walking. The kids had a great time as you can see by these pictures!

The horns on this thing are AMAZING! They had many different animals at the fair, including kangaroos.

I love this picture of the girls! Their heads are perfectly perched, making them look so real! Abbey, you look like my little girl again!

Megan trying to make it to the finish line without dropping her potato.

Potato sack races! FUN!

Jennifer, Melissa, and Emily received ribbons just for participating. This isn't the greatest photo (the sun created some glare) but I thought it would be nice to have a picture of our newest student - Jennifer. She's a great kid!

What a character!

Here are some photos from "Character Day" at our Christian School, when all the kids had to act the part of the main character in a book they were reading.

Abbey with Emily, who played the role of Dolly Madison.

Andrew, Chris, and Thomas - "The Three Muskateers." When their skit was over, Andrew and Thomas passed out Three Muskateer candy bars to everyone!

Frank, ever the original, played the part of Enrico Ferme, the first man to split the atom. To the right is Justin as Roy Rogers.
Luke as the invisible man. You can view his skit on Abbey's blog. Just click on her link to your right.

Justin as Roy Rogers, Matt as Robinson Caruso, and Chris as Davey Crockett

I'm still here...

To all my faithful blog readers, I must let you know that I accidentally "killed" my faithful camera. On Saturday afternoon I had it in my purse and when I went to get it out, the thing was HOT! I opened the battery compartment and the batteries were even HOTTER! Randy said we put the batteries in backwards and killed the main board in the camera. It's not worth saving, so for now I have to borrow Randy's camera, which is not always available to me. Hopefully, by the end of this day I will have more pictures to share since the camera is mine today! AND -- I have been working on my Civil War dress. I'll post pictures of that soon also. Thanks to everyone for understanding!
