Disturbing...

February 25, 2007

The forecast: SNOW

These photos were snapped at 10:30 on Sunday night. The forecast calls for an accumulation of about seven inches. I love it...

What we did on Saturday...

Picked up Mr. Higgins from the dog groomer,
ate lunch at the olive garden,
paid our bill and left a tip,
then headed over to Lowe's to buy paint for Abbey's NEW bathroom! Wait till you see it! I'll post pics later...

...and we saw a really bad accident...

We're not too sure how it happened, but it looked as though someone ran this poor guy off the road and into the giant plate glass window of our local dry cleaner. They took him away on a stretcher while we waited for the police to clear the way. One can never know how the day may end...

For Anne in PA

Hello Anne! Thank you for the very nice comment you left about our new building. Maybe you can come up and visit us sometime? Here are the chairs you were wondering about. They are very comfortable, especially when compared to the solid oak benches we used to sit on!

Each chair has a sturdy wire "shelf" beneath it, and even a little "holder" for the Lord's Supper cups. We like 'em alot!

For the Hazra Family

I noticed that Josh Fryman and Marcus and Maritza Rivera left comments on YOUR BLOG. I thought you would enjoy seeing a picture of these lovely folks. Here's Josh and his sweet wife, Jen. Josh is anxious to meet all of you!

Here are Marcus and Maritza, a wonderful couple who have joined our church. They have one little boy, Marcus, Jr., and a new baby coming in May! The Rivera family is looking forward to meeting the Hazra family. WE ALL ARE!

Look who came to visit!

Annaleise dropped by with her dad on Tuesday night. We had juice and cookies and Annaleise showed us what she has learned on the piano. We had a great time together - what a sweet little girl she is! It's such a pleasure to be in the company of a child who knows how to be a child. You know what I mean?

Thanks for stopping in, dear one - we love you so.

All clean!

We removed all the chairs from the auditorium on Sunday night so the cleaning crew could come through on Monday. The church just sparkles! Sean did an EXCELLENT job of painting and the Cypher family came through like a white tornado and cleaned all the rugs. The Lord has certainly given us a beautiful church building!

Here's Sean in the east wing, finishing up the paint job. Thank you Sean.

An apple a day...

Can you believe it? One bite - and behold, a heart!

That's Amore!

Long Island Baptist Church is celebrating Friendship Month! Each family or single person draws the name of another and anonymously blesses that person or family through kind notes, thoughtful gifts, dedicated songs, etc., etc. One family even picked up a pizza at their favorite pizza place after the services, bought and paid for by their secret family! What a great way to tell each other, "I love you." Here's a photo of the entry way piano after the services last night.

A rose is a rose

These Valentine roses were on the counter at 6 o'clock this morning from my much-adored husband. How he managed to pull off all his little surprises without me finding out, I guess I'll never know!

A little entertainment

Something to warm your heart when the snow blows through this evening!

Look familiar anyone?

I think I'm on to something here...

I can relate...

This is how I've been feeling since Wednesday night. Today I am better, but oh so tired...

Let's go!

Randy and I took the ferry out of Port Jefferson and sailed over to Connecticut for a business meeting. It was one of those impromptu things where you just pack up and go at the last minute. We had a lot of fun just riding the ferry and relaxing. When we arrived in Bridgeport, we had dinner AND dessert at the Cracker Barrel! The training went very well and encouraged us to continue building OUR TRAVEL BUSINESS.

What I did on the ferry...
What Randy did on the ferry (okay, I confess, I ate french fries...)
