Winter on Long Island

Our captain in the cold.

A beautiful red cardinal searches for seed beneath our feeder.

Poor Mr. Higgins! Freezin' without his sweater.

Winter blew into Long Island last night. It roared all night long, blowing snow and making the garden chimes hanging from our big pine tree chime louder and longer than ever before! Just a few short days ago it was 60 degrees here, and now the thermometer reads 19 degrees. Brrrrrr!
