Take a look at this!

Today, when I arrived home from work, a package was sitting on the desk in our home office.

Inside was a dictionary...

Written by my great, great grandfather, Charles Jonas! He's on the right...

I was absolutely delighted!

And so very thankful...

And really, really glad...

That this gentleman (probably Army) took such good care of it!

My great, great grandfather is buried in Prague, Czech Republic.

Please don't ask me to say all that in Bohemian...

I thought the print on the dictionary was Czech or Slovak. My Dad is from what is now Slovakia. When he left the country in the 70's it was still Czechoslovakia.

Very neat! I agree with Anne, Prague is a fabulous place!

Thank you for your comments everyone! At this time, I am in touch with Professor Winston Chrislock of St. Thomas University in Minnesota. He wrote a biography of my grandfather. He promised a copy of the book to me, which records the exact location of his birth place, burial site, etc. As soon as I receive it, I will publish more information about my very "colorful" grandfather. And oh, how I would love to visit Prague! My roots run deep in the Czech Republic...

Wow, what an exciting life he had. It's such a shame he died so young, he probably would have done even more! Thanks for such an interesting bit of your family history, Gina

Wow! I live in the midwest...in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is the Czech National Museum...due to the fact that the city has the highest percentage of people of Czech ancestry in the United States. Have you ever been there? I heard the museum was great.

I am glad you enjoyed your surprise!
