I decided it would be fun to plant some forget-me-nots in the middle of winter. Michael's had some tiny little planting pots - seeds included - for one dollar. Not sure that they would grow on my cold windowsill, I took a chance, spent a dollar, and planted five tiny seeds. And whadyaknow? I've got forget-me-not sprouts! I made the most visible sprout the only green thing on this photo so you could see it clearly...

And yes, I collect little, whimsical birds. Someday, I'll show them all to you..Thanks for reading!

Collecting little birds!? I like you already.

I'm wondering if you're aching for spring to sprout with this pre-seasonal planting of seeds. It's a great idea. I managed to keep my last bonsai tree alive through this winter by making sure its roots were properly watered.

In spiritual application to your post, it speaks of the promise of new Life in Christ. No fairy tales of global warming will stop the perpetual rotation of seasons as God ordained. And the earth will end as the Word declares - when it melts away from the face of God just before He creates a new heavens and a new earth, both untouched and unstained by man's progress and pride.

A pleasure to meet you!

Hello Sparrow's Song! 'Tis a pleasure to meet you here on my blog. I enjoyed reading your well-written thoughts and look forward to seeing you here often. I appreciate your spiritual application you made to this post - I found it quite refreshing. I tried to grow a bonsai tree once, and failed. I do LOVE to garden and, as you stated in your comment, am so looking forward to the planting season. I have found that I am quite fond of the big, blue morning glories that wind their way around anything they can get their tendrils on. And they are so beautiful! I have seed packets already to go but am waiting until early April to plant them. The seeds need to be nicked with a nail clipper and soaked overnight before planting. They don't transplant well and must be planted directly into the earth where they are intended to grow for the next several months. I am hoping to have a vegetable garden this year, but our yard is home to several rabbit holes and I wonder if a garden will feed my family or theirs. Sparrow's Song, I can't connect to your site. Perhaps I am doing something wrong?

Thank you again for your thoughtful, well-informed comments. I find you interesting and hope to connect to your site as soon as I am able!
