Romans 14:12

Try to remember Romans 14:12 should you find yourself pointing out the ugly faults of others.  Think of it when you’d like to blast our current political candidates for their wicked infidelities, habitual lying, self-righteous pride, and murderous scandals. Remember it when you can’t think of one nice thing to say about your really annoying neighbor, less-than-perfect parents, ungrateful children, and the driver who cut you off (on purpose, of course) in 5 o’clock traffic on America’s busiest highway.  Think about it when all you can do is pick apart the people around you while excusing and recusing yourself from personal interrogation.  When you think you have everything and everyone figured out, remember Romans 14:12.  It’ll pull you back down to earth right where you belong.

“So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”

And you can fight it all you want. You can discuss it with the people who think just like you do and console each other that your judgement day will never happen.  You can call it antiquated, out-of-touch, ancient philosophy—but the Truth will remain no matter what size your boxing gloves.   Surround yourself with statistics, information, and the opinions of men set against that great and undeniable truth called the Bible.  It will stand.  It has for thousands of years and it will continue to do so until the end of time. Romans 14:12 will happen.  It will happen to the small, it will happen to the great, and it will happen to you…

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”

Get ready—now. Don’t waste your precious, waning time on the foolish causes of this world, of societies, and culture.  Don’t waste your hours pointing fingers, placing blame, and protecting yourself against the truth.  Be very concerned about your soul, about your eternity, and how you will answer for yourself when that great day of the Lord arrives.  This will help you:
