Save your breath, Joseph Lowery...

Insult in the form of attempted comedy - not a reverent prayer to our Almighty God...

Who made color the issue here, anyhow? Shouldn't Mr. Lowery be praying that God would give our elected president wisdom for these treacherous times? Disappointing... to say the very least. Perhaps we'd better get used to it?

I am afraid yesterday was only a taste of what we are in for. Although I did not vote for the man I sincerely hope he is successful and does what is best for the country regardless of color. I couldn't believe the amount of glass he is always standing behind, I am sure the secret service was thrilled with his election...

I'm with you, Tadd. I didn't vote for the man either. But it is our duty to support and pray for him as he serves the American people. Joseph Lowery's comments were completely inappropriate and it's really pathetic that he tried to wrap them up in the guise of a prayer.

This is so awful.

The man sitting behind Obama doesn't look too amused.

He wasn't praying to the Lord, he was addressing the people in Washington, and trying to prove a point by reading a little poem off a piece of paper.

I agree with you - Disappointing.

How disgraceful. I couldn't finish hearing it. No reverence whatsoever. This is where righteous anger can present itself.

I would have to agree with Abigail. He was reading a poem not offering prayer to God.

Nevertheless, this should have been a time for including all people, not making a negative personal statement because the choir was listening.
